On my recent visit to Bremerton Washington to visit with my son, I was able to visit
elandan cardens opened in November 1994, it offer's the majesty of a native northwest garden on the shores of Puget Sound. Sculptured stones, wood fragments of ancient forest trees and water vistas were artfully staged to provide the open-air gallery that celebrates the
Dan Robinson Bonsai Collection.

It began with a blank canvas. A six-acre, flat and nearly treeless abandoned landfill awaited the artist’s touch. Robinson orchestrated his family and community volunteers to follow his direction and inspiration. He enjoyed extraordinary commitment. A year of intense construction yielded a garden museum, a gift gallery, and a community focus of pride.

I was lucky to find Dan working on one of his customers bonsai the day I visited him and it was an extraordinary experience watching him work on the specimen below.  His son has a very successful business designer sculptures out of local stone gathered in the Washington area.  Some of those
are pictured below also.

Elandan Gardens Gallery is listed by
"Country Living Magazine" as
"One of the Ten Best Stores in the Country!"
